Our vision is to redefine our current theory of systems and begin developing a new emerging system, a system that operates through co-operation, integrity, beauty, and loving kindness. One that creates the conditions for all of communities and individual’s to achieve their greatest potential regardless of age, sexual orientation, color or disability. These conditions provide access to mental health, wellness, jobs, fresh food, and housing.
We create a system that addresses the holistic support thats needed to create communities that thrive and individuals that celebrate life. When we celebrate life together, we begin to understand that each of us has meaning and purpose just in being alive. Just by growing food together, eating as a community, sharing our humaness which also includes sorrow, sadness, loneliness, but also love, happiness and joy and beauty.
Within the consulting aspect of our business, we work with communities around the world to develop these systems by creating community programs that facilitate the process of creating communities that are abundant in resources. Our method has been to create components that are linear but where the intersection of several components is a new emerging system. When I use the word programs, Id like you to move away from the current nonprofit model or concept. When I say programs, think along the lines of doingness, or action. for example if we install an urban farm and add a program around food as medicine, think of it as a small business, or a component of a system. when you create multiple businesses, or components, the more components one adds, at the integration of these linear programs is the systemic qualities of a thriving community, a working system.
The Steps(the process of the steps will remain similar in each local, but the programs and components designed around the needs might differ)
1. Identify local resources and needs
2. Install an urban farm
3. Develop a mentorship program to teach people to teach people
4. Add farmer training curriculum/program
5. Add Food as Medicine curriculum/program
6. Add additional programs that fit the current needs of the community. For example, career coaching, job skills training, small business development.
We do have the experience and curriculums to create job skills training specifically in urban agriculture. We also have a template that will allow you to add additional programs that build resources, not use them up.
We focus on socially conscious and mindful leadership and community development.
